As part of this year, Challenge CORE series the GMD VIP Members requested a series of games from their favourite settings.
The latest of these is Lord of the Rings. So following on from a Middle Earth adventure I ran for them a few years back the party returned as members of the Company of Culthain a band of rangers who hunt the enemy across the North Western Middle Earth.
This is a Campaign Playtest series with the following cast:

Who lost his family to Morg the Dwarf Killer.

Good friends of Lofar who also is a tracker for the company, but has travelled ahead of the party with Culthaines band.

The company of Culthaine decide to split up and search for the star of Algalaine, and both find themselves in a desperate battle against the undead that plagues the ancient ruins. Lofar falls after being run through from behind and drops into a pit.
Tinuviel in despair goes berserk smashing the skeletons right left and centre! Ronin descends into the pit to check on Lofar, but he is dead.
Deciding to regroup both groups descend deeper into the ruins, their hearts a little heavier than before.
Before long they discover a large cavernous chamber with a giant dwarf statue holding the star of Algalaine! But guarded by more undead. The party work together to dispatch the enemy.
Ranger says it is only right for the dwarf to climb up and claim the star of his ancestors! … The company chant as Ronin climbs, ‘Climb the beard! Climb the beard! Climb the beard!’ As ronin clambers up the beard f the dwarven statue, only to get within a fingertip of the star before plummeting into the water below as he slips and falls… Twice more Ronin fails to climb the statue until Ulf pushes him aside climbs up and retrieves the star…
Finding secluded boats, the party use them to exit the sunken ruins and back to the snowy landscape of the foothills of the Misty Mountains ready for their journey back to the Tower of the Tirthon.
